The course was in impeccable condition. The fairways, greens perfect. Everything you would expect from the Ritz. I would highly recommend this course. And I can't wait to watch the Accenture match play next year, and watch pros go in the same bunkers I went in. We played late in the afternoon, and had plenty of daylight in early April. We never saw the group ahead of us, or the group behind us. it was paced perfectly.
Played a couple of weeks after the WGC. Went to the tourney and had to play it. Great condition,great staff. Pace of play was great,sub 4 hours with just two of us. Nice to be able to look around at the sights. Play the correct tees,the bunkers are killers. Very much a penalty if you find them, and there are plenty! Greens are fast and very contoured,plan your approach. This isn't a bomb the driver on every hole course, you need to think on a lot of shots. It is playable, has ample landing areas,but the bunkers and transitions do come in to play.
Dove Mountain is a beautiful layout and extremely well maintained. It is very difficult for the average golfer because of forced carrys and large, undulating greens with many fall-offs if your ball lands in the wrong place. Typical of a Nicklaus course, it favors high-ball hitters.
We were there one week after Acenture tournament. Totally incredible.
Very difficult....lots of blind landings both off the tee and on approach.
