Starr Pass - Rattler/Roadrunner
3645 W. Starr Pass Blvd. Tucson, AZ 85745
Enjoy the mountains of Arizona at JW Marriott Starr Pass Tucson Resort & Spa. Located just west of an area considered the birthplace of Tucson, AZ,
A fairly decent tract. Pretty well kept for the conditions and a hard freeze the prior month. Greens & Tees were real plush.
Its a great course in beautiful condition. The yardage book is a necessity.
I played this course on Jan 16, 2010 and found it to be a beautiful layout, but rather difficult. The course is quite hilly with most tee shots being from an elevated position and requiring a carry of from 150 to 200 yards to reach the fairway. This can be adjusted by the tees you decide to play. I have an 8 handicap and played the Silver tees which overall, measured less than 6,000 yards. This resulted in some short second shots but made the course much more playable and enjoyable. The greens were fast but true. The practice facilities are excellent. The staff very helpful and this results in a pleasant experience.
