Overview of Vistal Golf Club

Nestled at the base of South Mountain, Vistal Golf Club offers eighteen holes of championship golf along with amazing views of downtown Phoenix and the Valley of the Sun. In 2000 the golf course was completely re-designed and built by PGA Tour Design Services in consultation with local PGA Tour players Tom Lehman, Billy Mayfair, and Howard Twitty. The course opened to rave reviews in November, 2001. Four sets of tee boxes let golfers choose to play yardage from 5235 to 7013. This par-71 course features a variety of challenging holes that test your shot placement with over eighty well-placed bunkers. The course includes desert hazards, water features, and mountain-side elevations. Just as important as the course is the atmosphere, we believe having a good time is most important. Classic rock music is piped throughout the facility and the practice area to set the tone. The Blue Pig Patio is often full of guests enjoying an ice cold beer and a fresh grilled hamburger. At Vistal Golf Club, we hope you enjoy a day of golf with friends in a beautiful setting at a great value while having a really good time!

Had not played here in years. Found a good online price and took a chance. Nice surprise not at all what I remembered. Course was in good condition, staff was friendly, an overall good round for a good price. Ill be back.

Went with my son who is a first time golfer and I am just getting back into golfing after about 8 years on Saturday in May 2011. Had a nice time to say the least. The staff was extremely accommodating and attentive. During the 18 holes we saw the beverage cart at least 10 times. Course looked as if is was in the change between cooler and hot weather so there were areas that were in "repair". I thought we might have trouble playing fast enough for the group behind us but I think they only had to wait on us maybe twice but they were a 4some. This course has a lot of desert areas as with many Arizona courses and hunting for stray shots is time consuming with all the undulations and foliage. The end result is that my son and I had a great time which is further between times with him in college now and living in the dorms. Will definitely play again.
