The 18-hole championship course is 6,021 yards from the back tees, but don`t let that fool you. There are four par 5 holes over 518 yards that have doglegs and occasional water to greet the wayward drive or approach shot. The valleys best par 5 awaits you on the first hole. A 605 yard monster known as "The Green Monster", a dogleg right with water up to 200 yards out and bunkers all along the turn...Test your skill...you will need it

Overall the experience at Painted Mountain was good. The staff was very pleasant and the course was in good shape. The front nine was better than the back nine just due to the length. The back nine had to many par 3s and resulted in a very short nine.

I play this course every time I come down to AZ for a couple of reasons: #1. It is a good course to play your first round due to a golfers' friendly layout for someone who hasn't swung a club for a few months. #2. Exceptional service. They have a great breakfast before you golf. Lunch and dinner menu is very good also. You can always find coupons in the paper that will make it a greater value. Sherry, aka Hollywood the cart gal will catch your name and make you feel like you are a member there. Chuck aka Bandit who greets you and takes your clubs at the bag drop was one of the friendliest persons I have encountered. He had knowledge of Mesa and our golf game that was beneficial to some of the people in our group.
