The new Longbow Golf Club was unveiled in the fall of 2003. Following a complete redesign with the addition of a striking new clubhouse, expanded acreage and totally revamped practice facility, Longbow, more than ever is a "must-play." The new design improves upon perfection by lengthening the total yardage to 7,003 from the back tees, expanding the fairways and boosting par to 71. The distinctive new Arizona contemporary clubhouse is a one-of-a-kind structure that offers every amenity including a spacious outdoor event patio with fans, heaters, misters, outdoor kitchen and bar, enormous patio fireplace, convenient drive-up snack shop, cozy restaurant, and well-appointed Golf Shop. "Play it again, for the very first time" states, Bill Huffman, Golf Columnist for the Tribune Longbow Golf Club is an annual host of the American Junior Golf Association`s Heather Farr Classic.

I had not played at Longbow and was impressed with the club from the moment I arrived. Greeted by friendly staff and liked the staging of the carts in comparison to the driving range, putting green and chipping area. I was a bit disappointed that there was no GPS, but I used my GolfLinx app I purchased at a discount with my membership through Golfhub and found it fairly accurate. Unless I missed it, there was no explanation of the pin placement, so it took a couple of holes to figure it out. Green, up front, Yellow in the middle and Red in the back. I took it as Green, go at it, Yellow, use caution, and Red, STOP!
The course itself was in great shape. The fairways seemed really firm as I was getting a lot of roll out of my driver. Greens held well, although I was confused by the putting greens, found them really challenging. I had a hard time judging the speed.
Beverage service was always coming by and the Bratwurst was awesome along with cold beer after the round.
All in all, it was a very pleasant experience and I look forward to playing again.

I would play this course more often. It was nice to be greeted by an employee of the course who ask to take out bags to the cart. The cart had a card with our names on it and our tee time. The course itself was in GREAT condition. Good mix of wide fairways and smaller fairways. A good mix of par 3,4,and 5s. It was not to expensive and it was worth it.

Played 3/25/2010 -- course in pretty good condition, although greens are a little hard. Reasonable tee options for players of various levels. Desert course, so some target golf, but not unfair even for higher handicap players. Clubhouse & course staff friendly, but seem to be spread a little thin, possibly due to general economic conditions.
Overall, I considered my round at Longbow a good golf value, particularly considering the discounted greens fee through GolfHub.
