The 280 acres that is now The Legacy Golf Resort was once a 7,500-acre ranch once owned by Dwight B. Heard at the turn of the century. The original three-grain silos, built in 1902, still remain along the 18th fairway and were once the tallest structures in Maricopa County. The Sierra Vista House, which marks the 1st tee, was visited on occasion by Theodore Roosevelt and Pancho Villa in the early 1900`s.

This course was such a pleasure to play, and for an early Sunday morning tee time, the great on-line rate made it a real bonus.
From the bag drop upon entry to the bag pick up when leaving, the personnel was professional, courteous, attentive and prompt.
The course is in great condition, and its both challenging and fair. I also enjoyed the course design that showcases various mountains in the distance--i.e. Four Peaks on one, Squaw Peak, Camelback, and South Mountain. The water stations and restrooms were clean and well maintained.
The service in the bar/restaurant was good as well.
The overall golf experience at the Legacy was high quality and Id return.

Course in very good shape and well worth the green fees. This particular Sunday the pace of place was not good. Almost a 3 hour front and 3 groups arrived on 10. Need to control the course. Greens were very good
