Taking a short drive from Sky Harbor Airport, Arizona State University, Downtown Phoenix, or Old Town Scottsdale, puts you right on the first tee at Kokopelli Golf Club. This Bill Phillips designed 18-hole championship course offers a challenge to the advanced player while still allowing the novice player to experience an enjoyable round of golf. Highlighted by seven serpentine lakes, Kokopelli favors accurate tee shots while the fairways are cut through series of moguls and bunkers that lend a links-style feel to the golf course. Great conditions and an even better location make Kokopelli Golf Club one of the East Valleys best golf destinations!

Played Kokopelli in early Aug. of 2010. Temp was over 100 but enjoyed every minute! Fun layout, great staff, good value. Course is easy enough to navigate as I played by myself and had no trouble getting around. Beverage cart girl made the rounds often which was very appreciated! Will be back!

Kokopelli Golf Course (KGC) is more challenging than it looks when driving by. But Im getting ahead of myself. The location is convenient to where I live, the pro shop is courteous, professional and responsive, the equipment (carts) are newer with GPS (that seems accurate when I use it), and the practice range is in very good shape.
I played the course for a low rate on a Monday near noon, and for August I was surprised how many other players were braving the 107 degree temperature. For the most part the Tee boxes are in good shape but a few of the greens were showing signs of too much heat. Fairways are a little tighter than some courses, but not so much that you are playing target golf only. YOu can grip it and rip it in several spots. At the same time, there are a number of holes where you need to think before you blast away or you'll end up in trouble, and getting out of the rough at KGC is no fun.
Their beverage cart runs frequently and the pace of play is usually good. On the day I went recently, the pro let a fivesome out. They were slowing things down, but when I mentioned it to the pro, he explained that they hated to say no to a fivesome when it was slow, and that is understandable. He did send a marshall out (they call them players assistance) to get the fivesome to let others play through.
All in all one of the more challenging and interesting courses to be found in SE Phoenix outside of Resorts. Worth the higher than usual price.

Kokopelli staff is very friendly; and the value of the twilight green fee is unbelievable. GPS yardage available on the carts!!! Are you serious, this course is truly awesome. The rolling fairways and multiple bunkers make for a challenging and fun experience every round Ive played here.
I would recommend everyone to play at least once at Kokopelli. I plan on taking all my out of town guests here.
