Terrific value for the modest winter price ($38) and all the golf course even the single-digit handicapper will want, depending on tees played and pin positions. Not in pristine or even particular pretty condition because of dormant grasses; has a generally muni look to it. Dont let that fool you. One of the most difficult sets of greens I have ever played and I have been playing 57 years and most of the name courses around the country. Unfortunately, not a female-friendly course: many greens defended in front with deep pits for traps -- and the traps are not in great shape. Even from the generous ladies tees this might be a long afternoon for her. They are in the process of taking out a bunch of fairway traps, and much as I regret seeing that, it probably helps the overall experience. Range/putting green are neat, staff is uniformly pleasant and helpful, even crowded it plays in a reasonable 4 1/2 hours -- despite (or maybe because of?) no rangers. While youre paying $150 around the valley for pretty and green (and advertising) remember: you can play here four times for that, and have a great golfing experience doing it.
Very enjoyable round. Personnel were very friendly and most helpful.
The staff made me feel like a member and were extremely friendly. The greens were in good shape and the pace of play was good even though the course was crowded.
We have adopted this as our home course and we travel from Scottsdale and Chandler and elsewhere to play. The cost and quality of the course is the deterministic factor. They do not over seed for the summer so things can look kind of brown around the edges but the fairways and greens are quite playable. If there was one improvement that could be made might be the quality of the sand traps. The sand in many of the courses at my price range can be like hitting off the sidewalk so we try our best to stay out of them. A must try course if you havent yet.
This course has some great views of the whole valley. Has some difficult hole for the bogie golfer but is enjoyable to play. Only problem is the carts. They are very old and you dont feel they will get you up the next hill but I understand new carts are do in any day. Check to be sure they are there before you set up your next tee time here. Other than that the little outdoor grill is great and its a fun place for a day out golfing.
