The 280 acres that is now The Legacy Golf Resort was once a 7,500-acre ranch once owned by Dwight B. Heard at the turn of the century.
The course was in great shape and provides an excellent opportunity to score for any golfer... wide fairways, limited rough and excellent greens. The food at the restaurant was also very good.
The greens and fairways are in great shape. The huge bunkers are pleasing to the eye but they need more sand . Almost broke my wrist they were so hard. Such a pretty course but the dead scrub is not dessert it is sloppy looking and needs a good cleanup.Play was slow as we were only a twosome and still took over 4 hours and 30 min to play. Cart girl was the friendliest we have seen in quite a while.

I play a lot of courses in the greater Phoenix area and have played the Legacy 3 times since our arrival in December. Without question The Legacy is the best golf experience in greater Phoenix and the fairways and greens are manicured to perfection. I will always recommend this to my playing friends and look forward to more rounds at your fantastic golf course. In my estimation it should be rated 5 stars.
