Ahwatukee Country Club
12430 S. 48th Street Phoenix, AZ 85044
Arizona golf legend, John Bulla designed this 18 hole championship course mixing the beauty of its desert landscape with a challenging yet fair layout to create a memorable golf...
Decent course. Fairways need a little work. Greens were in good shape. The only real negative is the sand traps. They have about a 1/2 inch of sand in them. It's like hitting off of concrete. Impossible to get the club under the ball so you have to try and pick it. Can be a bit slow this time of year.
I highly recommend playing this course. Greens are always in great shape and compare to Troon course greens. Fairways are in decent shape year round. You must be an accurate driver of the ball in order to score here...houses line the tight fairways. The staff and restaurant staff is second to none...extremely polite and friendly. I don't recommend this course for beginners. I play here weekly and can usually get a round in under 4 hours. Play Ahwatukee CC, you won't be disappointed...great course for a great price.
Ahwatukee Country Club was a nice, fun, and well established older course with lots of tall trees for a desert course. Narrow, house lined fairways made sure you brought your straight game, because if you weren't down the middle you were in the stuff! Greens were in great shape. Sand Traps were actually sand instead of sand covered concrete like some older courses. Clubhouse staff very friendly and knowledgeable. Have Fun.
Golf course was in good shape. The fairways were well cared for, with some browning. The greens were well manicured, although somewhat slow. The sand traps, like many others in the valley, were not playable as a result of very little sand.
Some nice holes, fairways need a little work, good club house and very helpful staff. Well worth playing for the money.
