Welcome to Bear Creek, a 36-hole golf facility located at 500 East Riggs Road in south Chandler, 1/4 mile east of Arizona Avenue. Bear Creek Golf Complex is the result of a partnership between the City of Chandler and a private developer, Las Corrientes. Our mission is to promote golf throughout the community. Both the golf courses and practice area were created by the Nicklaus Design Group and architect Bill O`Leary, and opened for play in January 2000. The clubhouse opened in November 2007. In addition to our Championship (The Bear) and Executive (The Cub) length courses, we also have a full Practice and Learning Center, staffed by PGA Professionals who are available for both individual and group lessons.

The Cub is a fun course to play. The day I played a lot of people had their kids with them, and there were a couple of foursomes of kids only ranging in age from eight to maybe twelve.
There is no paved cart path except near the clubhouse, but the course is remarkably well manicured and shows no signs of wear from carts.
There are a LOT of tee boxes. Everyone can find a suitable place to tee off from. With most of the course par threes, you get a chance to improve your short game. The greens are well maintained and roll true,. so this is an excellent practice course.

This is a real sporting course to play if you want to work on your short game. Most every par 3 hole has 4 sets of tee boxes. You will use every iron in the bag as the back tees on the par 3s range from 60 to 210 yards. The 5 par 4 holes range from around 275 to 330 yards in length. There are times when I will hit one shot off the back tees and a second one off the forward tees which on the par 3 holes are usually in the 45 to 80 yard range. This is the range where I really need to improve on. Don't expect the greens to be fast they are not but they are well maintained.
Don't rent a cart, carry your bag and walk the course. The next tee box is always within 50 yards of the last green. A cart is not necessary. I am in my 50s and I am absolutely amazed how many people 30 years my junior ride carts. If you walk the green fees are not that much more expensive than buying a large bucket of balls at the range.

Fairways and greens are in very good shape. Rough areas were really soggy and chunky with hunks of sod. Fast playing, excellent course to practice your short game. Ill definitely add this reasonably-priced course to my regular rotation to mix things up. Pro shop and restaurant looked nice, so did the driving range.
