Sun City courses are a good value. We played Thursday 4/24 with a member. The course was in great shape with enough challenging hazards to make our game fun. We played from the whites and found our drives flirting with the traps and water. For the longer hitters I'd recommend the blues. We'll play again when the pressure drops off for summer.
We Played Willow Creek Saturday 3/29/2014. The course was in great shape the staff are always friendly and I even hit a tee shot into the backyard of a house having a party of around 20 people. They brought my ball back to me and told me to have a great round, unbelievably friendly people. We played in 4 1/2 hours due to a slow 4 some 3 groups ahead, but the waits weren't bad and it aloud us time to chit chat on the tees. We will definately be back.
Almost all Suncity courses this time of year being peak season are very busy, so it's no surprise it takes four & a half hours to play, just grin and bear it. The course is in very good condition, greens are smooth with good ball roll, fairways are well maintained but if your ball rolls just slightly off the fairway you will be hitting out of the creek since there is little or no grass to stop the roll, staff is on par with the other local courses.rates are a little higher than last year so take it as average in less you play late in the day for twilight rate.
I have played willow creek course out in sun city a few times and it is always a very playable course, the greens are well maintained except when they are over seeded, but all courses suffer during that process, the fairways are in great shape as are the tee boxes, just when you think this course is too easy for your caliber of playing your ball will find the creek ! hence the name "Willow Creek" it does not or should I state should not come into play but a ball that is hit just off the fairway could roll into the two inch water that is almost always present along most fairways, but if you want to go for it instead of a penalty you can and I have hit out out it with some times good results ! The pace of play is usually just under four hours not bad considering some players choose to walk this course which is very doable. The staff at Willow Creek are very friendly and keep things running smoothly and you normally tee off at your assigned time without delay, I recommend this course for an enjoyable round of golf.
I have played Willow Creek on a regular basis through out the year and it's generally in good condition other than the times it's being aerated, the course can be challenging from the back tees, but not so that you will have a big number on that hole, the staff is friendly and helpful, driving range and putting green is more than adequate, it's on par with most the other older Sun City courses, this layout has a concrete creek running along side almost every hole, so even on short par fours if you get too close on the right side of the fairway your ball will probably find the water way, which sometimes you will be able to hit out of. I will continue playing this course because it does make the game enjoyable.
