This par 71 gem features dramatic elevation changes, unspoiled desert terrain, abundant wildlife and beautiful bent grass greens. While Rancho Manana Golf Club poses a significant challenge for low handicappers, it also attracts and is well known for its fairness and playability by high handicappers, as well. Beginning with Rancho Manana's first hole, the front nine takes golfers through the Town of Cave Creeks name sake, Cave Creek Wash, one of the last remaining riparian areas in the state. From there, each subsequent hole ventures upward, to higher elevations, where one can witness some of the states most breathtaking views. No where else in Valley of the Sun can a golfer simultaneously view picturesque images of Camelback Mountain, Mummy Mountain, Squaw Peak, Black Mountain, South Mountain, and the dramatic Tonto National Forest, with its distinctive Elephant Butte. From the heights of splendor, golfers experience an ongoing, truly unique experience with a pair of par 3's that forces one to gaze over the dramatic decline in elevation as golfers meander back towards the site of a once thriving, real western dude ranch, now the existing clubhouse and restaurant facilities, with their original, rustic structures. From there, Rancho Manana's back nine allows one to encounter a slightly different experience, as golfers work their way around a lush oasis of water-guarded holes that emerges, once again, from along side Cave Creek, where Mother Natures flourishing, vast array of wildlife can be found, including the likes of bobcats, roadrunners, mule deer, rabbits and eagles. As golfers near the end, they will be treated to the courses two most challenging par fives, giving one the immediate desire to make the turn again.

After six years in the valley I have found a favorite golf course. Its a real pleasure playing there from the challange of the course and the panoramic views of the cvalley to the friendly and helpful golf staff. The restaurant is excellent and so are the people. What a great golf course!

My wife and I played this course 1 round and decided to come back for 2 more without checking out any other courses. We were not disappointed in our decision. We had a long winter break and Rancho Manana offered everything we could ask for to start getting rid of the rust. The course is definitely for target golfers with narrow fairways, hidden from each other. This gives a feeling of privacy and of not being rushed while keeping the play kept moving at about 15 minutes per hole.
We would recommend this course for any handicapped golfer. Low handicappers will be challenged with high risk/reward shots and higher handicappers have good landing spots that don't intimidate.
The course is not the longest course we have played, but the tee boxes give a good variety of distances. I am not a long ball hitter and didn't use my 3 wood once, but most shot to the green are well protected and make it challenging.
Half the course is in the hills and the other half is fairly flat which gives a good contrast.
Course was in great shape. Greens are hard and fairly fast even when wet. Staff was very friendly and helpful. They gave the impression that they were genuinely happy we were there. We will be back.

I had the opportunity to play Rancho Manana last week, and it is the most incredible course I've ever had the opportunity to play. The course is very short, but very playable if you hit good shots. There isn't much room for error, but you will be rewarded with smart play. I shot my best score to date.
I would highly recommend this course to anyone playing the area. It plays up and down the mountains, with some very impressive elevation changes. I cant wait to get back!
