Played Friday 4/27--course was in great shape. Staff was friendly and helpful in every way. I love the course. It immediately to the top of my list for playability and challenge. I'll be back.
This was my first time playing this course yesterday and brought along my buddy from Minnesota. The staff there was extremely helpful and attentive and to be expected at a nice course like this. The only thing I could even say I didn't personally like was the greens were a little slow because they just overseeded. I guess that is to be expected, but they said they would be back to normal in a week or so. The course was tough but absolutely a blast to play. There is wildlife and amazing scenery all over this course. I can't wait to come back and play this again with the faster greens! What an outstanding course!
A desert course of serene beauty you have to add to your must play list.

SunRidge Canyon is one of those must play golf courses when visiting Phoenix. Every hole offers a majestic view that can easily distract the average golfer from his game if he is not careful. This is a true test of a golfers ability to concentrate on each golf shot and then relax enough to absorb the natural beauty of the surrounding of this magnificently designed golf course. At 6850 yards from the black tees or tips, this course will definitely challenge the shot making capabilities of a single digit handicap golfer and below. However, this a a golf course where one should not let their ego over estimate their true ball striking ability, as the gold tees, at around 6400 yards offers plenty of challenges in managing your game and testing your scoring capability. This is even more evident on the final six holes of this challenging course, which are even more difficult due to the uphill elevation changes and the blind approach shot to the pin locations. The par 3, 17th hole is one of pure architectural brilliance! It is a horseshoe shaped green with a massive green side bunker in the middle. The uniqueness of this hole is further explained as you approach the tee box. If the pin location is on the left side of the bunker, you play the canyon tee boxes to the left which requires a 180-210 yard precision shot over a large deep canyon. However, if the pin is on the right side of the bunker you play a different set of tees on the other side of the canyon and to the right that gives you a totally different perspective of the green and bunker. Thus the reason for what appears to be 19 holes on the pin sheet and course lay-out booklet. Brilliant! A truly fun and beautiful desert course hidden in the canyons of the majestic community of Fountain Hills, that truly makes my list of must play golf courses. One more after thought for most golfers, you may want to be sure you bring a few extra balls for your round, as missing the fairways on this course offers very little possibility of finding and/or playing your next shot. Also, do not forget to bring your camera, as you will want some memory photos of playing this majestic course to pass on to your friends and family.
Course and staff were great. Greens were slow but that is to be expected this time of year. Only negative was speed of play.
The course is absolutely beautiful and an excellent test of your skills for both men and woman. The course is in excellent condition, easily equal to any private club. SunRidge will certainly be at the top of your Must Play list anytime you get back to the area.
