Landmark National, the creator of many nationally recognized courses including PGA West, commissioned Pete Dye to weave his magic at Lost Canyons Golf Club. With its majestic terrain that golfers love at first sight, Pete called it “the best suited and the most naturally beautiful land that I have ever had the opportunity to design upon.” Sculptured amid the old oaks and through meandering valleys, a large portion of the land remains in its original pristine stat Lost Canyons features two distinctly different courses. The Sky Course follows the canyon ridge lines offering spectacular panoramic views. The Shadow Course winds along the rolling canyon floor and affords breathtaking views of White Face Mountain. Both courses place a premium on accuracy and positioning. Featuring five sets of tees, one has only to select their comfort level to enjoy a truly unique golf experience.

The course was well maintained especially considering the heat that has been in the area. The staff was very courteous and willing to help when questions were asked. Will definitely play there again.
Nice big greens, nice layouts, fairways not as nice. Some bare spots, and hard fairway. Need more watering? This is late April, it should not be this dry. They need to take care of this course better. Nice layout, but not so nice maintenance.
This is sad to say but this course has been a great course for some time for me but today 12-31-2010 was one of the worse day on a course in a long time and I play every week and often twice a week. The fairways were horrible and the greens were even worse. I felt like I was playing on a course that was 20.00 to play and yet it is not and it was a great course at one time. I honestly felt like they are not doing their job in caring for the course or they may be hurting financially. If you read this and play then good luck because the fairways are bare and extremely hard and the greens are as chewed up as I've ever played on and beyond hard, where you have no accuracy. Sorry, Lost Canyons but in all fairness you best get your act together or you will have no business.

Have seen this course in better shape. Greens were reasonable, but fairways were bare in certain areas. Its a stern test of your golfing skills, but also fun to be out on the course. Feels like you are 1,000 miles from civilization....and youll leave a few golf balls there as a reminder of your voyage.

The course lay out is very well done, and makes for a challenging and fun day. However, based on the date of this review, the conditions werent too great. The greens were fine, but the fairways were dry, hard-packed, and tough to hit. I felt penalized for when I did hit the fairway, and didnt score when I should have. Plus, not enough water stations on the course.
