"My friend and I have this ongoing debate. If your ball comes to rest near those 150 yard barber poles in the middle of the fairway and impedes your stance or swing are you allowed free relief?"
"The 150 poles in fairways are obstructions. If it is movable, the player has the option to remove it. If it is not easily movable, the player may take relief for ball, stance and swing as an immovable obstruction, but may never get a “line of sight” or other relief."
